A Prayer Life, "Do you have one?" Praise will not replace a prayer life in the Bible. We read God inhabits the praises of His people YES that’s true Yes Praise and worship is important but it cannot replace a prayer life Prayer will empty the heart of its cares we are told to cast are cares upon the Lord for he cares for us Don’t call your family and friends every time you have a concern and pour your heart out we are to pour our heart out to God In prayer we learn the personality of God Jehovah Jireh our provider Jehovah Nissi our banner Jehovah Shalom Peace Jehovah Tsidknu the Lord our Righteous Prayer acknowledges the answer is beyond our human ability We can't fix everything we recognize some things are beyond our grasp Prayer causes humility to breakout you focus your hope on God Prayer says God is the solution WE receive divine direction through Prayer Think of the life of Jonah as he made a decision without prayer it ended in a storm which would have destroyed the ship had they not thrown him overboard Pray to God He is a wonderful counselor we shouldn’t do anything without talking to God first What areas of your life are you having problems in do you go to God first before making decisions in these areas In everything acknowledge Him He Gives direction and we need Divine direction in every area of our lives WE are taught to pray Kingdom of God come will of God be Done Here on earth as it is in Heaven Gods will is always done in Heaven we need it Here Prayer is a dialog not a monologue we need to learn to pray and stay and wait for an answer not read off a Christmas wish list our demands I mean prayers to God God wants to talk to you don’t try to manipulate God in your prayer closet God cannot be manipulated He is High and lifted up He is worthy of all praise He is the Lord God He Changes not WE MUST CHANGE Prayer strengthens our intimacy with GOD Prayer Changes me WHY DO WE PRAY PRAYER changes me Prayer Changes my attitude Prayer changes my Situation Prayer Changes things around me IF MY People which are called by my name Are you one of Gods people are you saved by the blood of the lamb then you need a prayer life King James Bible If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
